Over the years Lucy has trained clients from many different backgrounds, from celebrities to a football team.  As well as appearing on TV and Radio as a fitness presenter she was a Consultant on the hit TV lifestyle show "Extreme Makeover".  Most recently she has just written "The No Gym -Workout" - a book helping you to achieve the body shape you always wanted.  Below she gives her tips to getting in trim for the winter:

Its that time of year again that we can now get away with hiding under our pashminas, unlike the summer months where arms and legs were on show.  Let’s face it its also less inviting to keep fit in the winter months as its dark, grey, cold and we crave more comfort foods than we do in those summer months. So the winter can be a challenge when it comes to our body shape and fitness, but fear not as there are ways around this so you can look fabulous over the festive month. Here are a few simple calorie burning ideas:

1.  Create your own little home circuit, you could do 2 minutes running up and down the stairs, then do 1 minute sit ups, 2 minutes jogging on the spot, 1 minute squats, 2 minutes running up an down stairs again, 1 minute Gluteal circle, 2 minutes jogging on spot, 1 min of boxed press ups, this easy little circuit can burn up to approximately 130 calories.

2.  You can’t beat the great outdoors so just make sure you have plenty of layers on and go for a brisk walk, its great for you skin and also a real boost for your immune system to fight off flu and colds plus walk for 20 mins and burn off around 200 calories.

3.  Take a visit to the library and hire a fitness DVD so you can get motivated in your front room, then in a weeks time swap for another, so you don’t get bored.

4.  Alternatively draw the curtains and put on your favourite tunes and dance away as this is a great calorie burner.

So just make sure that you do some form of activity 3 times a week to keep in shape so you can feel fabulous and look gorgeous over the festive season. ©
