Hair Trends Autumn Winter 2008

Colour – Two Tone
  • Block two tone colour is set to be very popular this season.  This look uses two similar colours to create a two tone effect throughout the hair. Although this sounds quite harsh, given the right colour combination the look can still be soft.  The multi-tonal colour will create movement in the hair, rather than from flat, uninteresting colour.
Style
  • Curls and waves will continue to be very popular throughout Autumn/Winter 08.
  • For an everyday look, go for soft waves throughout the lengths and ends. This look takes inspiration from the sixties with a retro feel. Hair must be kept soft and light, but with a tease at the crown for added sexiness.
  • To create this look those with a strong kink or wave should use a product such as L’Oreal Techni Art Curl Up Spray or Curl Down Cream to develop movement in the hair. These products will help you on your way to achieving a nice natural curl without too much effort.  If your hair is very straight, simply use tongs or straightening irons to help create soft curls. Your stylist will be able to show you the best way to do this.
  • Those wanting to achieve a high fashion could try frizzy curls. This looks moves away from straight, sleek hair towards gentle backcombing to create height and volume for a candy floss, cotton wool like texture.
Cuts
  • Bobs will maintain their popularity varying from classic cuts similar to Katie Holmes to more textured looks seen on the likes of Nicole Ritchie.
  • Crops will continue to rise in popularity following celebrities such as Agyness Deyne, Rihanna and Sarah Harding
  • Length and layers will also remain popular, working well with waves and texture mentioned earlier. Layers create extra body and can transform a plain one length cut into a more exciting and interesting style.
