It’s time for women across the UK to gather family and friends and sign up for the Adidas Women’s 5K Challenge.
Registration is now open and runs are taking place in three cities across the country on Sunday 7 September 2008.
The 5K fun run is open to women of all ages and running abilities, with simultaneous events taking place in London’s Hyde Park, Birmingham City Centre and Liverpool’s Sefton Park. Whether you are new to running and want a goal to work towards or just want a great excuse to raise money for charities like Breakthrough Breast Cancer, this is a brilliant way to get fit whilst making a difference.
TV and radio presenter Fearne Cotton will be taking part in the race in London’s Hyde Park in support of Breakthrough Breast Cancer. Olympic hopefuls Liz Yelling and Goldie Sawyer will also be taking part alongside thousands of women all running for a cause close to their hearts.
Breast cancer is now the most commonly diagnosed cancer in the UK with over 44,000 women and around 300 men diagnosed every year. By taking part in the Challenge and supporting Breakthrough Breast Cancer you will be helping the UK’s leading breast cancer charity to achieve its vision of a future free from the fear of breast cancer.
Participants can join the Breakthrough team and before the run will receive a fundraising pack and access to an online sponsorship facility and forum. On the day you can run alongside other Breakthrough supporters wearing a Breakthrough t-shirt and you will be sure to receive cheers and encouragement along the route.
Adidas have developed a pink-ribbon running collection in association with Breakthrough and this year there are some great new additions to the range. The collection will be available exclusively in JJB stores nationwide from July or online at www.jjbsports.com and 10% of the sale of each item will go towards Breakthrough Breast Cancer.
So why not sign up now and get your friends and family to join you and the thousands of other women in the biggest and best women-only fun run in the UK. Visit: www.womenschallenge.co.uk/ or call: 020 7025 2483.
