Imagine. You jump in the car with a girlfriend or two, whiz down the motorway, career round a few B roads or two and arrive at your beautiful spa destination.

Those survey people at Mintel tell us we are taking more than 200,000 spa and wellness breaks every year. That’s serious and we expect serious pampering. Lie back and enjoy – this may be the closest you will get to heave.
So what do we expect from a spa weekend? A luxury hotel – yes. A good gym and pool – yes. Oh and of course some fantastic beauty therapies – absolutely - yes. Every decent hotel now offers a spa and there are some fantastic offers available. One seasoned spa weekender admits to calling hotels on a Friday afternoon asking what is available. Why not try it?
A spa weekend is a great way to jump start a new health and fitness regime. Jump on the scales – face reality and stop telling yourself “I look OK” Oh, and on your way out of the spa, book another weekend in six weeks’ time and see how much weight you have lost.
