To celebrate a momentous 25 years in music and theatre, Britain’s leading musical theatre star, multi-platinum recording artist, TV and radio presenter and Olivier Award winner, Michael Ball rounds off 2009 with the launch of his brand new “Michael Ball Past & Present Live at the Royal Albert Hall DVD” – the must have present everyone should find in their stocking this Christmas. 

Michael releases an outstanding collection of his best known songs recorded in this most thrilling live concert at the Royal Albert Hall during his recent tour.  From his West End debut in Les Miserables in 1985 to his Olivier Award winning performance as Edna Turnblad in Hairspray, this absolute must-have DVD is a two hour spectacular extravaganza packed with Michael’s favourite songs over the past two and a half decades.

Highlights in this musically packed DVD* include Michael’s many West End and Broadway credits.  From his 1985 debut as Marius in Les Miserables Michael sings the beautiful Empty Chairs at Empty Tables.  Love Changes Everything Michael’s chart topping song from Andrew Lloyd Webber’s Aspects of Love in which he starred in the West End and on Broadway and Michael’s concert favourite, the Rice/Lloyd Webber composition Gethsemane from the 1972 rock opera Jesus Christ Superstar.  Tell Me It’s Not True is from Willy Russell’s enduring musical Blood Brothers and fans’ favourite and fans will love Michael’s spine tingling version of The Winner Takes It All from Mamma Mia.

The concert opens and closes with show stopping hits The Impossible Dream, a great favourite with concert goers and taken from the Broadway production and film Man From La Mancha and from the popular Hairspray - You Can’t Stop The Beat. 

The Prayer, Don’t Stop Me Now, Seasons of Love, Mack the Knife and Put a Little Love in your Heart feature alongside numerous other instantly recognizable songs along with Michael’s 1992 Eurovision entry, One Step Out Of Time and his own composition, Just When which was originally recorded for his ‘This Time It’s Personal’ album.
